Tim Ahern

Head Coach: Tim Ahern

Tim returns for his second season as the head coach of the Totems. A 2003 graduate of Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Tim played varsity baseball under head coach J.T. D'Amico, was a First-Team All-Conference selection as a senior as well as team MVP.  Tim went on to play at B.C.C. where he eventually signed on to play for Texas Tech. Tim is excited about the direction of the baseball program and puts the program "a close 2nd" to his wife, Jessica, and 2 children Alexander (2) and Madelyn (5 mos).

Pete Orgill

Assistant Coach: Pete Orgill

Pete enters his second season as the Varsity Asst.  A 1995 Graduate of Davis High School in Yakima.

Pete was a 4 year letterman in baseball and was selected to the All-state team in 1995. Pete went on to

play Catcher and 1st base for 4 years at the U.W. winning back to back Pac 10 championships. In 1999 he was

voted Captain of U.W. baseball team and then

drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 36th round.

After injuring his shoulder for the 3rd time Pete went into teaching and coaching.  He has taught at Robinswood high school in the Bellevue School District for 5 years and was the head baseball coach at Interlake High for 4 years. (2005-2008)

 


 

 

Assistant Coach: Ian Farmer

Coach Farmer will take over the pitching staff for the 2010 season. Farmer, a former high school teammate of coach Ahern, graduated from Eastlake High School in 2002 after a very successful Sr. season. Ian was a 1st-Team All Kingco Pitcher as well as receivied team MVP honors and Eastaside Journal "player of the week" recognition. Ian went on to pitch at Columbia Basin C.C. in eastern WA for 2 season being named 1st-team All-NWAACC both years. After C.B.C.C. he signed a scholarship to pitch for St. Mary's College of California in the WCC to finish out his playing days. After earning his degree in Kinesiology, Ian has been coaching at several different levels and will be a great addition to the staff. 

 


 

 

Gary McGregor

Assistant Coach, JV Head Coach:  Gary McGregor

 Coach McGregor is in his hird year with Sammamish.  He spent 13 years at Mount Si before coming to Sammamish in 2008.

From 1995 to 1999 Coach Mac was the varsity assistant at Mount Si.  From 2000 to 2007 he was the head coach.  Under Coach Mac, Mount Si went to the KingCo playoffs 6 of his 8 years.  In 2005 Mount Si won the KingCo baseball league title.  It was the first baseball KingCo title for Mount Si and their first outright baseball title in school history.  In 2005 Coach Mac was named the WA State 3A Baseball Coach of the year.  He was also named the Seattle Times Area Baseball Coach of the year. Coach Mac played at B.C.C. and then Dickinson State in North Dakota.   Gary lives with his wife Denae in North Bend.  They have 2 sons, Jason and Josh.

Laine McCann

Assistant Coach, JV: Laine McCann

 

Laine played for Sammamish High School from 2001-05 as the starting catcher for 3 seasons. He also lettered 2 years in football. His Sr. year he was awarded 2nd Team All-KingCo. This is his 5th season helping out with SHS baseball. Lainn primarily works with the catcher's and is an asset to the team due to his knowledge of the SHS Baseball program and it's history which is 2nd to no one.

Assistant Coach: Erick De Los Palos  

 

A 2009 Graduate of SHS. Erick will be spending most of his time assisting with the pitching staff. Erick lead the team last season in opponent's batting average, K's/Inning, and was 3rd on the team in ERA. Coach "De Los" has alot to offer and will be a big addition to the 2010 coaching staff.
