Basic Rules/Policies for the season: (Please make sure you understand these policies)

  1. Every situation is different and will be handled accordingly by the coaching staff and administration when necessary.

  2. Game transportation - players will ride the the team bus to and from  games away from the home field.

  3. Off field behavior - If a players find themselves in a situation due to off-field behavior requiring discipline, THEY need to be responsible for their mistake and schedule a time with me (Coach) to explain what is going on. If I hear of off-field discipline/ misconduct from a source other than the player themselves, it will be harder to be forgiving whereas if they take the responsibility for their actions I will try to respect that and find a way to make things work for the parties involved.

  4. Drugs/alcohol - Misbehavior involving drugs and/or alcohol will result in IMMEDIATE and PERMANENT removal from the team. ZERO TOLERANCE.

  5. Coaching dissat - Issues pertaining to player/family dissatisfaction with the coaching staff needs to be addressed to us by the PLAYER first. I will not discuss concerns attaining to coaching decisions with parents until I have had an opportunity to discuss things with the PLAYER. (They are old enough to handle these types of concerns. In short, respect your teammates, your coaches, the program and carry yourself in a way you would be proud of ON and OFF the field and we won’t have many problems.

Prospective SHS Baseball Families

What needs to be done prior to Monday for the players to be able to practice?

  1. Eligibility packets MUST be turned in. To get a packet see Mrs. Stillwell in the athletic offices. Tell her that you would like to come out for baseball and she will give you the right forms. They NEED to be turned in prior to Monday.

  2. Grades must meet the standards. To practice you must have had above a 2.0 GPA last semester. You also must be passing 6 out of 7 classes to be academically eligible. This does not mean you cannot try out or be part of the program. However understand there will be a minimum of 3 weeks suspension in which that time you will have to reach these minimums.  For every game day, practice, and tryout date, you must attend AT LEAST 5 of your 7 classes in the day.

  3. You must have an ASB card Again, Mrs. Stillwell can lead in you in the right direction, if you don’t have one already they are $45.

  4. All fines owed to the school must be paid. If you owe money to the school for anything, it must be paid off.
