Head Coach - Nick Johnson, joins the Girls Swim and Dive team this year from Newport High School, where he currently teaches Health and P.E. He previously coached swim and water polo at Newport Hills Swim and Tennis Club, and while in Pullman for two years. He also coached golf at while attending Washington State for one year. The most important thing on Nick’s mind for the Girls Swim and Dive team is that the girls work hard towards improving rather than winning. He hopes to see the team continue to improve and work towards state qualification times. When he isn’t coaching or teaching, Nick is a private personal trainer through the American Council of Exercise, and usually does his training through the Newport Hills Swim and Tennis Club. He has been a trainer for about two and half years. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, doing yard work and home improvement, doing sports, playing with his dog and hanging out with his wife. |

Assistant Coach- Wilson Walters joins the Girls Swim and Dive team this year bringing much coaching experience. This experience includes coaching water polo at three different King County high schools, Newport Hills Swim and Tennis Club (where he also coached a swim team), and the Redlands Renegades water polo team. Along with coaching our swim and dive team, he coaches for the Washington Water Polo Club since 2004 and continues to do so. His coaching philosophy is not only to help the girls prepare for whatever level of swimming that they want to achieve, but to help the girls have fun. In the future, he hopes to see the team win more meets and have the girls make state qualifying times. When Wilson isn’t coaching, he enjoys exercising, hanging out with his friends and family, and working with kids. |
