SAMMAMISH HIGH SCHOOL TO START AFTER-SCHOOL
SNACK
PROGRAM
After reviewing results from a student survey, the
BSD Nutrition Services Department has decided to pilot an after-school snack
program beginning in late April 2009. Students will have access to a healthy
snack between 2:30 and 3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the cafeteria. They
will be able to use their lunch money accounts if they prefer. If there is
enough participation in the program, it will be continued. Examples of
popular choices included pizza bagels, hummus & pita, yogurt parfait, whole
fruit, side salad, chips & salsa and muffins. Please encourage students to
take advantage of this offering if they stay after school.
